IQ: Intelligence Quotient

IQ is the intellectual capacity of a person. The average IQ is 100, and the standard deviation is usually 15. This means that if you have an IQ of 115, you are smarter than the average person, and you are smarter than 90% of people. If you have an IQ of 130, you are gifted, and are smarter than 99% of people. If your IQ is 145, you are very gifted, and smarter than 99.9% of people.
At least, that’s the theory.
Just how reliable is an IQ test? Supposedly you take the test and it determines how smart you are. But what does it really do?
